Outcome – 26 weeks – The next ChapterTroy works at Apollo Motorhomes as a Trade Assistant in a full-time role and has stated that he feels his life has changed a lot as he’s getting a lot of exercise and is very happy to be busy.Regarding positive feedback from my supervisor, Troy commented “Every month we have a toolbox meeting that lets us know how well we are doing. They have an award ceremony where the winner gets a $100 gift voucher and a car park for a month.A couple of months ago, my supervisor put my name down in the draw and I won it!” Troy’s General Manager Josh, has worked with Chapter 1 Employment to get Troy’s story up and is very supportive of it.Troy stated that he had a set back with an injury early in his employment and that Apollo Motorhomes was very supportive by allowing him to carry out light duties until he was given the ‘all clear’ from his surgeon. He had only been in employment for 2 weeks at that time.“I’d say my biggest challenge has been understanding how the company operates but I am feeling more confident now and enjoy building components for the motorhomes and caravans,” said Troy.Troy remarked that working with Lea from Chapter 1 Employment has been great as she offers him helpful support and calls him regularly to check in on him.Troy stated he had previously worked in the Security industry and found it very lonely often working on his own. Working with Apollo Motorhomes and being around people all day has been the best thing for him in managing his mental and physical health conditions, as well as getting to work with his hands and build things which he really enjoys.Contact Chapter 1 Employment if you need quality staff or if you are an agency that needs more outcomes.#Chapter1employment#employmentservices#disabilityemployment#diversityandinclusion#humanresources#disabilityservices

My first job involved handling feet 🥴 2014: I was working at Clark’s Shoe Store where my work shift was spent touching and measuring children’s feet.(I bet you’re wondering but, how bad can a child’s feet be) 👀 Trust me, you don’t want to you know! There was a particular day when I complimented a child on her rainbow-coloured nail polish. To my horror, she said that she wasn’t wearing any!I then realised that it wasn’t nail polish, it was a fungal infection! 😷Anyway,Despite not necessarily wanting to be there.I made sure that I was the top seller in the department and gave top-tier customer service. So much so, that some parents would only request me for their appointment.Looking back I’m grateful to have learnt the importance of delivering exceptional customer service and being able to sell with confidence at that age. Those are lessons I still apply to my business today. I share this story as a reminder that where we start doesn’t dictate where we end up. Just like a jigsaw puzzle, all pieces of experience are required to get you to your end goal.If you’re at a stage in your business right now that is unpleasant, stay focused and earn yourself a good reputation. You never know what pieces of learning are going to be valuable in the future. 📸 The exact store I used to work atP.s Was your first job any better? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️

We assume that working hard and keeping our heads down will be enough to move our careers forward. But none of those things is true. Most recognized experts achieved success not because of some special genius, but because they learned how to put disparate elements together and present ideas in a new and meaningful way. That’s a skill anyone—with hard work—can practice and learn. And more and more, it’s essential. In today’s competitive economy, it’s not enough to simply do your job well. Developing a reputation as an expert in your field attracts people who want to hire you, do business with you and your company, and spread your ideas. It’s the ultimate form of career insurance. Looking for a change this summer? Or to stay the same? Change is a word ... for a journey with stress.~You get the journey, and you get the stress. The payoff is at the end, you're a different person. But both elements are part of the deal. Choose hard. And watch the growth that happens.~”Before last summer, I had worked 6 years in veterinary hospitals as a veterinary technician. I worked two jobs and was looking for a third one that I could do remotely for some extra cash.~𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫. The recognition, the income, and the amount of experience I got from those two weeks are what lead me to where I am today.~𝐈 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲.~Even though NOBODY thought it was a good idea to quit my job I had for 6 years, I still took a leap of faith.
